What led you to BTS?

I remember the day vividly. I was sitting in the library at my school, working diligently on some project or assignment. It was dark at 4 PM, cold, and it’s safe to say I was in the trenches. I saw my sister texted.

It’s time to test the waters.
Unless you already have
In the case you haven't:
Serendipity, UGH!, Run, Lie, Inner Child, Singularity, Butterfly, House of Cards
Listen for homework and report how your listening experience was.

Safe to say that was my introduction to the real BTS. I had a faint idea of who they were prior to my “deep dive”, but discovering who they really are was nothing that I could’ve imagined. The music was nothing like I’d heard before. ARMY welcomed me with open arms. I’ve always found comfort and support by being a part of fandoms before, but nothing is quite like being ARMY. It’s unconditional love both ways, and always such a happy vibe. I heard of ARMY before I even knew who BTS really even was, and I think ARMY played a huge part in leading me to BTS.

Who or what sparked your interest in art?

It’s funny because if you told me a few years ago that I’d be an “artist”, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. I was always jealous of my friends for being able to draw and paint and express themselves through art. It was through kpop fans on Instagram that I discovered collage and multimedia art. I remember how happy I was to try out this art style and how grateful I was to finally find a way to express myself through art.

What advice would you give those who are interested in art but are hesitant to try it?

Don’t overthink it. The more in your head you are, the harder it will be for your creative juices to flow. Find what inspires you and what sparks joy for you. And this might change over time! It certainly has for me. So many aspects of life require us to be calculated, but with art, you’re allowed to relax and go with the flow. And if you choose to join the art community, believe me, this community will welcome you with open arms and support you in your art journey always!!
