GEMINI SEASON
Happy Gemini Season! The sun has moved into the mutable air sign of Gemini, ushering in a literal breath of fresh air following the steadiness of Taurus season. While Taurus season asks us to slow down and bask in the beauty around us, Gemini season wants to sweep us away and relish in the exciting varieties that life has to offer. As Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and intellect, Gemini season is a time for stimulation, curiosity, and exerting our social energies, which is a welcome change after some of the recent astrology we’ve experienced.
This Gemini season comes right after eclipse season, and also in the middle of a Mercury retrograde. As an eclipse asks us to let go of what no longer serves us, and with Mercury retrograde forcing us to use caution and discernment as things seem unclear, the sun moving into Gemini gives us the gust of wind that we need to push us forward after the draining eclipse hangover. What did you let go of that allowed you to make room for new opportunities and perspectives to come flowing into your life?
The Gemini vibes are intensified as this Mercury retrograde makes its cazimi, aka when the sun and another planet (in this case, Mercury) meet up in the same degree. This cazimi offers us a bright spot as Mercury is infused with solar power, shining a light on fresh ideas and giving us that moment of clarity we so desperately needed following the eclipse season. In terms of BTS, when it comes to the sign of Gemini, we have to talk about Jimin! Per Jimin’s birth chart, he has his moon in Gemini, and if he is indeed a Cancer rising (rumor has it, but it’s practically canon at this point), he will be going through a 12th house transit while the Sun is in Gemini for the next 4-5 weeks. For the “proof of inspiration”, Jimin talked about wanting to show all of the different sides of himself, and how he still has so many sides to uncover and share. Jimin’s multitudes describe the quintessential essence of an air sign – someone who welcomes the opportunity to change, and to adapt. With Jimin, it’s clear that he is sensitive to his environments, and that he takes inspiration from the people and things he surrounds himself with. The exchange of ideas and flow of communication is important to him, which helps him get a better grasp on who he is.
At the same time, Jimin is incredibly mischievous, a trait that is indicative of his Gemini moon. Gemini is a sign that welcomes the right amount of chaos into everyday life, and doesn't mind a little bit of trouble. How can you stir up a healthy level of mischief this Gemini season in a way that is safe and inviting?
We also can’t forget that BTS debuted during Gemini Season, and their Sun, Mars and Jupiter are all in the dynamic air sign. If we consider BTS’ debut time at 8PM local time KST, that would make BTS as a group a Sagittarius rising, meaning Jupiter is their chart ruler providing them with a lot more luck on their side. BTS has continued to see major success and a steady career, per k-pop standards, because of their adaptability and eagerness to try something new.
It’s especially interesting that their new album PROOF is being released during Gemini season, and will offer us a retrospective of their prolific career thus far, calling into view all of the different musical genres they’ve experimented with. From starting out as a hip-hop k-pop idol group to being the powerhouse popstar phenomenons they are today, BTS’s success and career is exactly what a Gemini stellium with Jupiter as a chart ruler looks like! They have been able to see the benefit, and the rewards of taking the musical and creative risks that have propelled them into global superstardom.
All of this is to say, allow yourself to be curious and playful this Gemini season, and lean into the many sides of yourself that you contain.
