HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEOKJIN!
It’s a weird time to be ARMY, especially if you’re a member of JinCult. Our favorite fake maknae is starting his mandatory conscription in a little over a week and won’t be making public appearances for at least a year and a half while he serves his duty. But before we get into our feelings on that, let’s take a moment to celebrate the gorgeous goofball’s 30th birthday with a deep dive into his birth chart! (We’re just covering the classic personal planets, not the generational Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, etc. placements.)
A quintessential Sag sun, Seokjin’s personality is confident and ready to try anything and everything. Fire signs often have an uncanny ability to know when to move on an opportunity in their path and this is so clear in how Jin passed on bigger companies that tried to scout him and signed with BigHit instead. Their ability to amble along seemingly aimlessly often ends up leading them to their own truth with the directness of an arrow that is all too appropriate for the sign of the Archer. Sagittarius values their freedom above just about everything else, and no one embodies that quality quite like our Jinnie.
Folks with their Moon in Pisces are often very sensitive to the needs of others, sometimes to their own detriment. We all know Jin to be a very caring person towards his loved ones, putting their needs before his own many times. Most recently, he delayed his preferred enlistment start date so BTS could perform all together in Busan in October, but this is just the latest in a long line of examples of him catering to what best serves those around him.
Those with Mercury in Scorpio are not afraid to ask questions that get to the heart of the matter, whatever it is. But at the same time, they are intensely private about their own thoughts and feelings. Sometimes they can come across as blunt or even abrasive, but their goal is always to use logic to find the truth and they are confident that they’ll get there. Jin embodies all of these traits in his manner or communicating with friends and fans. Who reads ARMY for filth better than him? And why would we ever want him to stop?
The embodiment of “addition by subtraction”, Capricorn Venus folks tend to give more than they receive by stepping back and allowing others to shine; if that isn’t Seokjin idk what is. The way he big-brothers the other members and quietly supports them is so indicative of this placement. Even the way he shies away from compliments (and how his ears blush adorably 🥰) is par for the course when Venus is in Capricorn.
Generally, folks with Mars in Cancer tend to be indirect, or even a little passive-aggressive. They keep a tight lid on their emotions until they hit critical mass and have to explode, seemingly out of nowhere. But all of this bluster is really part of a cover for being incredibly protective of their own emotions as well as their loved ones. We can see this in Seokjin in how he goes to bat for his members; he’s the one who brings their issues to the company and the one who puts his foot down when push comes to shove in order to protect his team and keep them moving forward together.
Libra Jupiter is all about balance in relationships, as in keeping the peace and being diplomatic and cooperative. Moreover, Jupiter is the planet that rules Sagittarius, Jin’s Sun Sign, and that manifests here in his charisma and charming personality. Partnerships are the biggest teachers for folks with this placement, and Jin has spoken to that in conversations with various members about how much they have helped him grow as an artist and a person. Jin says he doesn’t think too deeply about things, but clearly his Libra Venus is making sure that he synthesizes his observations and internalizes those lessons.
Folks with Saturn in Aquarius are often natural leaders. While Jin may not be BTS’ leader outright, he is an unflinching pillar of support for all the members, including Namjoon. Saturn is big structural energy and Aquarius is all about collective power, which shows up as being a social “super-connector”; finding the right people to collaborate with comes easily and once again we can see this in Jin’s reality in his choosing BigHit over other, bigger companies, as well as his ability to trust the people around him to help him achieve his goals.
If “affable” was a person, it would be Kim Seokjin and his natal chart clearly shows the traits that lead him to move through the world with charm. Knowing all this, I’m personally very hopeful that he will have as easy a transition into his military service as one could hope for for an idol of his level. He may not make close friends easily, but he is deeply considerate of the people around him, especially those he is teamed up with, which I hope will endear him to his platoon-mates and allow him to continue to grow as a person while he’s away. It’s going to be hard (for JinCult especially) not having our silly, sweet, sexy Seokjin around for 18 whole months, but we wish him the very best for a safe and swift return to the loving embrace of his family, the other members, and ARMY.
