The Six of Wands as interpreted by Anna Grindrod-Feeny and Sof
The Six of Wands is the card of hard-won victory. It’s not the end of the road (though, truly, what is?) but it’s the moment when you can see your efforts beginning to pay off and your vision starting to crystalize into something more tangible. If you push and push yourself without taking the time to rest, to recharge, and to recognize how far you’ve come, the only thing you will be left with is demoralization and burnout. It is exhausting to go through life feeling as though all your efforts are simply not good enough.
That’s why this card is really the epitome of the phrase, “it’s the journey, not the destination.” Because there will always be more responsibilities, more inspiration, and new goals for yourself on the horizon, it’s vital to celebrate as you go rather than once you’ve reached the ultimate finish line. The truth is, the ultimate finish line simply does not exist. Even if you tie up one project, something else will be waiting to take its place.
When speaking with Sof about this card, we felt it aligned clearly with the Love Yourself era. BTS was still working hard, still chasing big goals, but there was a little bit more playfulness creeping into their work, and a sense that they had pulled off something big, something we might never have seen before. They were starting to see their big vision of success come to fruition and allowing that to drive them to bigger and bolder goals.

¡Fiesta! Party! 축제! We always need a moment to celebrate our achievements and the authenticity in them. This is what this card represents! When Anna and I discussed the meaning behind 6 of wands I immediately thought IDOL was such a good example for the idea, there’s so much meaning behind it: unapologetically yourself, authentically talented, hustle, fun, identity, and just a party to celebrate YOUR achievements and the long way you’ve come!
