Full Moon in Aries
How are we feeling now that Mercury and Jupiter are both direct, ARMY? This week’s astrology is already so potent, including the Full Moon in Aries that occurs on October 20, 2021 at 7:57 AM PDT. Full moons occur when the Sun and Moon are opposite in the sky, with the Earth aligned between. Our bodies and emotions are most affected on the full moon, and is an ample time for magic and connection!
I love full moons, as they are a ripe opportunity to close out any cycles from the previous new moon in its corresponding sign. In this case, the last New Moon in Aries was on April 11. What intentions were you setting 6 months ago? What were you beginning to heal from? Take a moment on this full moon to reflect on how far you’ve come, and what you have not yet addressed. See what loose ends you have the capacity to tie up, or cut off entirely.
Zooming in a bit more, the Sun is conjunct Mars in Libra, with both opposite the moon in Aries. Thus, this lunation is tense with energy of the Libra-Aries axis—the dynamic between our relationships and the self/ego. The push and pull between evaluating options and taking action. “We” vs. “Me.” To top it all off, Mars squares Pluto, rushing us to have it all figured out.
Be mindful of how you’re engaging in relationships and assess where you’re feeling defensive. If you’re open to distinguishing what shadow work belongs to you, and what belongs to others, there’s a lot of potential to let go of behaviors that no longer serve you anymore. Bring the pain, as BTS reminds us in “ON.” By doing so, you will have the space to care for your own needs, and in turn be available for your communities.
I designed this spread to give you time for reflection on yourself and your relation to others, to find clarity on what needs releasing this Full Moon. Grab a deck, shuffle with intention, and pull four cards intuitively!
Card 1: What has culminated since 6 months ago?
Card 2: What needs to be released in my relationships?
Card 3: What needs to be released internally to heal?
Card 4: What clarity will this work bring?
Reading for ARMY
I definitely encourage you to do a reflection on your own, but in addition, here’s a collective reading for ARMY!
1: What has culminated since 6 months ago? — Seven of Wands
We have been working on asserting and standing up for what we believe in. We’ve had the determination to forge our identities through action. But where might we have been too stubborn, or afraid to be wrong? Where did Mercury retrograde affect our ability to speak our truths effectively?
2: What needs to be released in my relationships? — Three of Wands
Let’s release the need for approval in our relationships. We do not need to plan our lives around the validation of others. Trust yourself and your ability to get where you need and desire to be. Can’t hold me down cause you know I’m a fighter.
3: What needs to be released internally to heal? — Two of Swords
A great segue from the previous card, the Two of Swords encourages us to trust our intuition in order to move forward from the inner conflict we’ve been mulling over. We’ve tried to weigh the options, debating between following our mind vs. heart. Have the courage to trust what your body has been trying to tell you. 나를 다 던져 이 두 쪽 세상에 ~ I throw myself whole into both worlds.
4: What clarity will this work bring? — The Fool
A fresh beginning, unbothered by the fear of falling. We don’t know where we’ll land next, but The Fool is an auspicious symbol of enjoying the journey, because we know we deserve it after putting in the work to heal. We know that we’ll uplift others along the way. 넘어져도 다시 일어나 scream ~ Even if I fall, I get back up, scream.
